Stefano Serretta’s research is grounded in a rigorous historical and analytical framework that seeks to expose the fragile self-celebratory foundations of globalised capitalism and the communication systems that sustain it, of which humanity is both protagonist and victim. Through writing, archival research, and the deconstruction of dominant narratives, his work examines the contradictions and schizophrenic dimensions of the post-ideological present. Selected solo exhibitions include Naked Lunch Money at Spazio Leonardo, Milan (2019), Shoegaze at the Italian Cultural Institute in Stockholm (2019), and Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night at Almanac Projects, Turin (2019). He has also exhibited at Triennale Milano, MAMbo Bologna, and A+A Gallery in Venice. A graduate of NABA in Milan, he currently teaches Public Art at the same institution. He lives and works in Milan.
