Tiziano Martini’s research is an ongoing and open-ended reflection on the procedural possibilities of painting and its constituent elements. Rather than working within the chromatic material itself, the artist acts upon it from the outside—moving, spreading, throwing, and manipulating it—accumulating time and gestures across the surface until painting becomes a record of lived experience. Time functions as the catalyst that transforms every imprint, drip, and scratch into evidence of a presence. He was awarded a scholarship at LIA – Leipzig International Art, Baumwollspinnerei, and completed a residency at the Lepsien Art Foundation in Düsseldorf. His solo exhibitions include presentations at Achenbach Hagemeier, Düsseldorf; A plus B, Brescia; and Otto Zoo, Milan. He has worked as an assistant to Mark Titchner, Boris Mikhailov, and Juergen Teller within the context of the Venice Biennale. He graduated in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and lives and works in Val di Zoldo, in the province of Belluno.
