Lorenza Boisi’s practice unfolds across painting, ceramics and sculpture, set in a sustained dialogue with the Fauves, French Impressionism, German Expressionism, the painting of the 1980s and Art Brut. Colour dominates and unsettles vision, transforming her realist imagery into apparently informal compositions where contour and surroundings are repeatedly burned through by chromatic intensity. Greek mythology, Celtic folklore and a Jungian dream-world coexist with reflections on the present and future, and the role of desire as a structuring force; recent painting cycles such as *Perseidi* extend this vocabulary into narrative tableaux of bathers, magical helpers and falling stars.

She studied at the Royal Dutch Academy in The Hague, the Leith School of Art in Edinburgh, Villa Arson in Nice and CERCCO – Centre d’expérimentation et de réalisation en céramique contemporaine in Geneva, with a parallel specialisation in Germanic philology at IULM in Milan. A “cultural agitator” as well as an artist, she founded MARS – Milan Artist Run Space and co-founded CARS – Cusio Artist Residency Space, and served as director of MIDeC – Museo Internazionale del Design Ceramico in Laveno Mombello. She was a finalist for the Premio Osvaldo Licini and the Premio Termoli, and her work entered the GAM Torino collection through the Fondazione CRT. Recent exhibitions include *Pittura Italiana Oggi* at Triennale Milano, the Reggia di Caserta and Traffic Gallery in Bergamo. She lives and works between Milan and Lake Maggiore.
