Roberto Rup Paolini’s research unfolds across video, painting, and experimental filmmaking, exploring emotion, imagination, and the ways in which reality is transformed through narrative and memory. Raised within a family cinema environment, he developed a longstanding interest in altered representations of reality and in the construction of worlds suspended between symbolism, folklore, myth, and literature. Through the cinematic research project Carboluce, he investigates the narrative and visual possibilities of independent and experimental film. His work has been presented in exhibitions, residencies, and artistic projects, including at Casa degli Artisti in Milan. He lives and works in Milan.
