Marta Mancini’s painting represents a continuous redefinition of the picture plane in linguistic, organic, and metaphorical terms. Over the years, her work has evolved from an early figurative phase towards radical visual simplification and a sustained investigation into the fundamental elements of painting: forms generated through subtraction and surfaces that constantly test the formal, expressive, and psychological dynamics involved in the construction of pictorial space. Her work was included in Pittura Italiana Oggi at Triennale Milano (2023) and has been presented at Tang Contemporary Art in Hong Kong, the Swiss Institute in Rome, and MAC Lissone. Selected solo exhibitions include Buds, curated by Cecilia Canziani at Matèria, Rome (2022), La molla at Matèria (2018), and Abita at Galleria S.A.L.E.S., Rome (2012). She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in 2006 and lives and works in Rome.
