Trisha Baga, an American artist of Filipino descent, develops her practice through video installation, performance, ceramics, and seed painting, combining different languages and media—from VHS to 3D technologies—and drawing upon television, cinema, and amateur footage to address themes such as gender identity and the relationship between body and technology. Institutions that have presented solo exhibitions of her work include Pirelli HangarBicocca, Milan (2020, her first institutional exhibition in Italy); Gallery TPW, Toronto (2018); Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts, Harvard University (2017); Zabludowicz Collection, London (2014); and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York. She is represented by Greene Naftali, New York. She studied at the Cooper Union School of Art and Bard College and lives and works in New York.
