Nebojša Despotović’s paintings unfold within settings that are at once intimate and powerful, where memory intertwines with personal history, existential fragility, desire, mystery, and the experience of loss. His work belongs to a generation that rediscovered painting as a means of challenging reality, reaffirming its capacity to contain biographical and cultural layers that resist reduction or synthesis. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and maintained a studio in Berlin for several years. Born in Belgrade, he lives and works between Treviso and Venice.
