Active since the early 1990s, Chiara Dynys’s research identifies within the world and its forms the presence of anomaly, variation, and thresholds capable of allowing the mind to pass from human reality into an almost metaphysical dimension. To achieve this, she employs an apparently eclectic range of materials—including light, glass, mirrors, ceramics, castings, textiles, video, and photography—creating installations that alter the perception of space. Her work has been exhibited at institutions including the Musée d’Art Moderne de Saint-Étienne, CIAC Montréal, Kunstmuseum Bonn, PAC Milan, Museo Pecci, MART Rovereto, ZKM Karlsruhe, Museo Poldi Pezzoli, and Museo Fortuny in Venice. One of her works is held in the collection of the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome. She lives and works in Milan.
