Corinna Gosmaro’s research operates on the threshold between painting and sculpture, where cultural paradigms, domestic settings, and evocations of landscape converge to create a proxemic universe that exposes the cognitive loops through which contemporary experience is organised. Her long-term project Trigger, initiated in 2017, examines the paradox at the heart of human existence: the intimate connection between the drive towards preservation and the awareness of mortality, the latter understood as a foundational condition of culture and civilisation. She was awarded the fifth edition of the 6Artista Prize at Fondazione Pastificio Cerere (2017), the Talent Prize (2018), and the Italian Fellowship in Visual Arts at the American Academy in Rome (2019). She has undertaken residencies at Viborg Kunsthal in Denmark and the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, and has exhibited at institutions including Fondazione Memmo, the American Academy in Rome, Fondation Fiminco, GAMeC Bergamo, Schafhof Künstlerhaus Oberbayern, and the National Mountain Museum in Turin. She lives and works between Paris and Rome.
