Paola Pivi’s research spans installation, sculpture, photography, and performance, creating paradoxical and disorienting situations that challenge perceptions of reality through irony, wonder, and surprise. In 1999, she was awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale. Her works are held in major international public collections, including Castello di Rivoli, Centre Pompidou, and the Guggenheim Museum in New York, and have been exhibited at institutions such as Tate Modern in London, the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, and MAXXI in Rome. Recent projects include interventions at La Rinascente in Milan during Design Week 2017, a solo exhibition at MAXXI in 2019, and We Are the Alaskan Tourists at ARKEN Museum of Modern Art. She lives and works between Europe and the United States.
