Marta Ravasi’s research develops through an intensely focused approach: minimal formats, elementary subjects, hand-built stretchers, and works presented without frames or decorative finishes. Hers is a painting of contact, attentive to materiality, rhythm, and subtle variation, where repetition functions not as a stylistic exercise but as a method of listening. Oscillating between abstraction and figuration without rhetoric, her work allows the painting process itself to emerge as a form of revelation. Selected solo exhibitions include Fresca at Galerie Elsa Meunier, Paris (2025), Bucce at Acappella, Naples (2023), Planet Caravan at Sonnenstube, Lugano (2021), and Violette di Marte at Fanta-MLN, Milan (2017). Her work has also been featured in the Cairo Prize exhibition at Museo della Permanente, Milan, and Pittura Italiana Oggi at Triennale Milano. She studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, Sint-Lukas Brussels, and earned an MA in Fine Art from Wimbledon College of Arts in London. She lives and works in Milan.
