Marzia Migliora’s practice spans photography, video, sound, performance, installation and drawing, drawing on attentive observation of individuals and their everyday lives to elevate even the simplest human gestures into accounts of collective history. Memory, labour and the analysis of extractive systems are recurring threads in her work, alongside a more recent multispecies approach that imagines how the world might appear from the perspectives of animals and plants. Across thirty years of practice she has examined the dynamics of capitalist production and worked to reorganise a more shared, communal imagination.

She represented Italy at the 56th Venice Biennale in 2015. Her work has been shown at MAGA in Gallarate, Ca’ Rezzonico in Venice, Castello di Rivoli, MAXXI in Rome, Museo del Novecento in Milan, Fondazione Merz in Turin, FACT in Liverpool, MART in Rovereto and Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin, and is held in public collections including the Madre in Naples, the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, La Triennale in Milan and the Castello di Rivoli. She lives and works in Turin.
