Marco Strappato’s practice is committed to an urgent reconsideration of image production and distribution in the contemporary era through collage, video, photography, and installation. His recent works investigate landscape, technology, and the technological sublime, often beginning with desktop imagery closely linked to notions of desire and escape. Selected solo exhibitions include presentations at The Gallery Apart, Rome (2019, 2015, 2013); Palazzo Ducale, Urbino (2017); and Crédit Agricole, Milan (2013). Group exhibitions include MAMbo Bologna (2018); Centro Pecci, Prato; Camden Arts Centre, London; the 16th Rome Quadriennale at Palazzo delle Esposizioni; Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, Venice; and Fondazione Merz, Turin. He earned a BFA from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, followed by an MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art, London. He lives and works in Milan.
