Giuseppe Gallo’s research spans painting, sculpture, and installation within an imaginary informed by mythology, history, and sacred iconography, balancing archaic form with contemporary sensibility. He established his studio in the former Pastificio Cerere in Rome’s San Lorenzo district and participated in the 44th Venice Biennale with a dedicated room in the Italian Pavilion. Major survey exhibitions have been presented at MACRO Rome (2007), Kunsthalle Mannheim (2008), and MART Rovereto (2009). His works are held in the collections of MoMA New York, Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Vienna, the Groninger Museum, the Fukuyama Museum of Art, MART Rovereto, and GAM Turin. He lives and works in Rome.
