Ilaria Del Monte’s painting belongs to the great female tradition of Surrealism: domestic environments where the ordinary and the fantastical merge seamlessly, inhabited by female figures, animal guides, wild presences, and vegetal forms. Solo exhibitions include Vento dal Nulla, Venice (2011); You May Not Believe in Magic at Galleria Antonio Colombo, Milan (2017); Spazio Vitale, curated by Ivan Quaroni, Matera (2019); La compagnia del sogno, curated by Claudio Composti at Other Size Gallery, Milan (2023); and Mondi Fantastici at MuPa, Ginosa (2024). She exhibited at the 56th Venice Biennale as part of the Italia Docet Laboratorium project. Her works are held in public and private collections in Italy and abroad. She graduated in Visual Arts from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and lives and works in Milan.
