Valter Adam Casotto’s hyperrealist sculpture originates from more than a decade of experience as a prosthetic make-up artist in the film industry. His deep knowledge of human anatomy and skin tissues has evolved into a sculptural practice concerned with subjective perceptions of time and the transformation of individual and collective identity. As a prosthetic make-up artist, he worked on productions including Harry Potter, X-Men: First Class, Prometheus, and The Hobbit, and in 2016 received the David di Donatello Award for Best Make-Up Artist for Matteo Garrone’s Tale of Tales. He has also collaborated with Maurizio Cattelan on the production of several iconic sculptures. His artistic work is included in the travelling exhibition Reshaped Reality: 50 Years of Hyperrealistic Sculpture, presented across Europe and at Expo Osaka 2025. Selected exhibitions include Identità Temporale at Festival Maravee Fiction in Lignano Sabbiadoro and (V)alter ego at Andrea Tardini Gallery in Venice. He lives and works in London.
