Cosimo Casoni’s research focuses on the language of painting and its possibilities through a layered process that superimposes elements of figurative tradition—landscape, still life, and trompe-l’œil—with post-graffiti aesthetics and skate culture. His distinctive skate painting technique involves applying bitumen to canvas using skateboard wheels, recording traces of movement as a physical and instinctive form of mark-making. Selected exhibitions include The Sunday Side at Clima Gallery, Milan (2016), Vivace Sostenuto Andante with Luigi Carboni and Thomas Lange at Fondazione 107, Turin (2018), Aspettando il sole at Piermarq Gallery, Sydney (2021), and Sliding Windowsy at IRL Gallery, New York (2024). He graduated with honours in Visual Arts and Painting from NABA in Milan and lives and works between the Tuscan Maremma and Milan.
