Irene Coppola’s practice engages with time and with the study of display as an artistic device through sculpture and site-specific installation. In 2019, she won the sixth edition of the Italian Council with the residency project La Wayaka Current_Tropic 08°N, developed within the Indigenous Guna Yala community in Panama. She has participated in Do Disturb at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and has presented solo exhibitions including Hanging Garden at Office Project Room, Milan, and Costa Sud at the Mare Memoria Viva Urban Ecomuseum in Palermo. Since 2014, she has collaborated with Isola Art Center in Milan. She studied at NABA in Milan and at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, and lives and works between Milan and Palermo.
