Giulio Scalisi’s practice engages with the present as a continuous flow of images and transformations, questioning the role of the artist in contemporary society through video, 3D-printed sculpture, installation, and virtual environments. Drawing upon the visual culture of everyday media—memes, digital dystopias, and the behavioural logics of the algorithmic age—his work reflects on the mechanisms through which reality is produced and consumed. Recent exhibitions include Good Guys (Gran Riserva) at Gasconade, Rome; Life Is a Bed of Roses at Fondation Ricard, Paris; Homesick at Futuredome, Milan; Primary Domain at Ordet, Milan; and A Healthy Dose of Confusion Before the Bang at Federica Schiavo Gallery, Milan (2020). He graduated in Visual Arts from NABA in Milan in 2014 and earned an MA in Visual Arts from ECAL in Lausanne in 2016. He lives and works in Milan.
