Luca De Leva is a multidisciplinary artist working across performance, sculpture, painting, drawing and installation. His practice operates in the field of the sublime, raising profound psychological questions about personal identity and humanity as a concept, and producing situations that generate physical and pragmatic reactions in the artist and the public alike — placing artist, work and viewer on a single, flat plane of importance. Recent projects unfold under the umbrella of *Thyself Agency*, a long-term framework through which De Leva approaches selfhood as a service, a mediation, an ongoing process in which performance, virtual reality, ritual and tradition coexist with an active, sometimes confrontational, sculptural register.

He studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan and at the HGB – Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig, and currently teaches Performative Techniques at IED Aldo Galli in Como. Recent solo presentations include *www.thyself.agency* at Pinksummer in Genoa (2023), *È stato bello pensarti* at ADA in Rome (2019), *Hai paura dell’uomo nero?* at Museo Burel in Belluno (2019, curated by Daniela Zangrando), *TWO* at VR projectroom for Manifesta 12 in Palermo (2018) and *Cronache da un altro Occhio* at Castello di Rivoli (2017). He has shown at Marsèlleria in New York, Future Dome in Milan, Le Scalze in Naples and Almanac Projects in London. He lives and works in Milan.
