Agnese Guido’s practice inhabits the territory between the picturesque and the grotesque. Working across tempera on paper, oil painting, ceramics, and papier-mâché, she develops a satirical visual language in which everyday objects are anthropomorphised and infused with dark humour. Her works construct a surreal universe where existential, material, and emotional dynamics unfold through symbols, poetic visions, and a gaze that transforms the familiar into the uncanny. Selected solo exhibitions include 158 at FL Gallery, Milan (2019), and Hair of the Dog at Wizard Gallery, Milan (2022). Her work was included in Pittura Italiana Oggi at Triennale Milano. She graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and lives and works in Milan.
