Yari Miele’s practice centres on the experience of vision and on the accumulation and return of light, working with fluorescent and phosphorescent paints activated by Wood’s lamps and with materials — polychrome marbles, multicoloured ropes, found surfaces — that are made to release nocturnal, almost cosmic visions. Geological traces, slow stratifications and the cyclic alternation of light and dark structure his sculptural and installational language, generating environments in which the perception of the work shifts radically between day and night. The reference to extraterrestrial overview, to fragmentary archaeologies and to the *Forma Urbis Marmorea* recurs as a quiet conceptual armature beneath the more sensory, psychedelic surface of the work.

He graduated in painting from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan in 2003, where between 2000 and 2002 he attended workshops with Carla Accardi, Gilberto Zorio and Corrado Levi, and worked as an assistant for Corrado Levi and Marion Baruch. From 2013 to 2024 he co-directed MARS – Milan Artist Run Space. His work has been presented at Tate Modern in London, Triennale di Milano, PAC – Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea in Milan, Palazzo Barberini in Rome, Fondazione Mudima in Milan, MIDeC in Laveno, Casa degli Artisti in Milan, Museo Spazio Pubblico in Bologna and Camusac in Cassino, among others. He lives and works between Milan and Como.
