Milena Sgambato’s painting is grounded in the figurative representation of the female body, suspended within ambiguous and timeless spaces where colour and atmosphere construct intimate visual environments poised between inner experience and external reality. Her work has been exhibited in numerous Italian museums and contemporary art institutions, including the ARCoS Museum of Contemporary Art in Benevento, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Caserta, and various venues in Milan. In 2011, she participated in the 54th Venice Biennale as part of the Italian Pavilion representing the Campania region. In 2019, she completed a public artwork for the City of Milan, and since 2018 one of her works has been permanently displayed at the Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. She graduated in Painting from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in 2008. She lives and works in Milan.
