Loredana Di Lillo’s practice moves between drawing, sculpture, photography, installation and collage, drawing on Surrealism and Conceptual Art to open sustained reflections on the relationship between universal narratives and private experience. Her works engage history, memory, nature and sexuality, power and religion, holding intimist registers — concerned with childhood, loss and the slow undoing of innocence — alongside more politically charged investigations of contemporary society and its values. The result is an oeuvre marked by surreal displacement and conceptual restraint.

She trained at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome. In 2012 she won the 13th Premio Cairo with the work Double Eye, and was subsequently in residence at ISCP – International Studio & Curatorial Program in New York. Her work has been included in shows at GAMeC in Bergamo, Palazzo Strozzi in Florence, Cardi Black Box in Milan and DOCVA Viafarini in Milan, and is held in the Farnesina Collection in Rome. She lives and works in Milan.
