Matteo Attruia’s practice employs a wide range of communicative tools—from photography and installation-based sculpture to video and neon text—in order to investigate failure, linguistic short circuits, and the ironic dismantling of commonly held beliefs and assumptions. His work introduces a systematic gap between the expectations embedded within visual codes and their unexpected reversal. He recently designed a collection of espresso cups for illy. Born in Sacile, he lives and works between Italy and abroad.
