Leonardo Pellicanò’s painting explores the contradictions of being and imagination through light, open pictorial grounds inhabited by figures of almost contemplative transience—presences that seem to settle upon the canvas only to dissolve again like passing thoughts. His drawings resist resolution, moving restlessly from one subject to another and accumulating archetypal forms across surfaces that capture the ineffable without ever fixing it definitively. Selected solo exhibitions include Repair Is the Dream at Emanuela Campoli, Paris (2023), OltrePanico! at Sentiment, Zurich (2023), and Shedding All the Dead Wood at Fondazione Adolfo Pini, Milan (2018). Group exhibitions include presentations at the Centre d’Art Contemporain, Geneva (2021), MANA Contemporary, New Jersey (2020), and Federica Schiavo Gallery, Milan (2020). He lives and works in Rome.
