Giulia Maiorano’s research draws upon childhood and play as reservoirs of imagery which, reworked through an engagement with the natural and animal worlds, give rise to sculptural installations where irony and melancholy coexist. Polystyrene, wax, ceramics, and photography become materials through which the artist constructs surreal landscapes and ambiguous figures suspended between memory and disillusionment. Her work has been exhibited at venues including Museo del Novecento, Milan (Sfiori, 2023), Ncontemporary, Villa Necchi Campiglio, and Triennale Milano. In 2021, she was selected for ArtVerona’s Level 0 programme. She studied Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies at NABA in Milan and lives and works in Milan.
