Domenico Antonio Mancini’s practice combines a sophisticated analysis of media with reflections on socio-political and biopolitical issues, transforming everyday experience and historical memory into multisensory works. Among his best-known projects is the Landscapes series, composed of white monochromes bearing alphanumeric Google Maps coordinates corresponding to locations significant to the artist’s life, creating a dialogue between nineteenth-century landscape painting and contemporary digital cartography. His work has been exhibited at institutions including MADRE Naples, Tate Modern London, the Swiss Institute in Rome, Castel Sant’Elmo, the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome, and MART Rovereto. He has participated in residencies at Fondazione Antonio Ratti in Como and the Mountain School of Arts in Los Angeles. Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, he is represented by Galleria Lia Rumma and lives and works in Milan.
