Roberto Fassone is a visual artist, performer, and basketball player whose research focuses on creative structures, the relationship between play and performance, the distinction between history and anecdote, spontaneous gestures, and the possibility of displacing Surrealism in time. His work has been exhibited and performed at major Italian and international institutions, including the Rome Quadriennale, MAMbo Bologna, OGR Turin, Castello di Rivoli, Fanta-MLN Milan, MOCAK Kraków, MART Rovereto, Carroll/Fletcher London, ZKM Karlsruhe, Ars Electronica Linz, and Visions du Réel in Nyon. In 2019, he co-curated Lo scherzo dell’arte, a performative film festival presented within Lo Schermo dell’Arte in Florence, and won the IMAGONIRMIA grant, through which he founded the Museo del Tempo Perso in Modena Ovest. He teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, where he also lives and works.
