Margherita Raso’s sculptural and installation-based practice develops through a material investigation into the vulnerability of perception, the relationship between the interior and exterior of forms, and the capacity of textiles—jacquards and magnetically draped fabrics—to reveal the structural qualities of sculpture from within. Selected solo exhibitions include The Hearing Eye and the Speaking Ear at Fanta-MLN, Milan (2024), Casting The Tempo at the Abbey of Santa Maria in Lucedio, Vercelli (2021), Canal at Bible, New York (2018), and Piercing at Fanta-MLN, Milan (2017). Her work has also been featured in group exhibitions at Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro, Milan, MACRO Rome, MAMbo Bologna, and WallRiss in Freiburg. From 2014 to 2019, she was co-founder of the artist-run space Armada in Milan. She graduated in Painting from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and lives and works between Milan and New York.
