Cosimo Filippini’s practice uses photography as a means of reflecting on the relationships between reality and image, and on the meanings of time and space, maintaining a constant dialogue with other visual disciplines including painting, sculpture, and drawing. In 2018, he was artist-in-residence with Pro Helvetia through the Viavai+ programme and participated in VIR Via Farini in Residence, Milan. In 2020, he presented his first institutional solo exhibition, Rampante, at the Museo d’Arte di Mendrisio – Casa Pessina. His works are held in the collections of the Museo d’Arte di Mendrisio and the Canton Ticino collection. He graduated in Economics for the Arts from Bocconi University in Milan (2004) and earned a diploma in Piano Performance from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan (2006). He lives between Lugano and Milan.
