Alberto Mugnaini’s practice moves between art, criticism, and writing in a continuous contamination of disciplines. From 1994 to 1999, he lived in New York, where he co-founded the design laboratory New York Works. In 2006, he launched AlbertoAperto, a project of exhibitions and cultural interventions hosted within his Milan studio. Since 2001, he has collaborated with Flash Art magazine. His design and sculptural works have been featured in The New York Times, NY Arts, Wallpaper, Abitare, Ottagono, and Elle Decor, and have been exhibited at Museo Bagatti Valsecchi, Museo Poldi Pezzoli, and the Triennale Design Museum in Milan. He graduated in Art History from the University of Pisa, where he also completed a PhD. He lives and works in Milan.
