Veronica Smirnoff
Veronica Smirnoff’s painting—shaped by her Russian origins and British artistic training—occupies a rigorous territory of inquiry into painting itself, articulated through a visual grammar of quiet intensity. She held her debut exhibition at Galleria Riccardo Crespi in Milan in 2008, was nominated for the John Moores Painting Prize in 2010, participated in the Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art in 2014, and was included in HEAT at the Archivi della Misericordia in Venice in 2019. She graduated from the Slade School of Art and completed a postgraduate programme at the Royal Academy of Arts. She lives and works in London.
